Halloween Box Cards

This year I tried something a little different for Halloween cards. I made three box cards for my sister. I wanted to make a scene out of the three I made.I am also trying to learn to use my mini photo studio correctly. I think they came out pretty well. It was a learning experience to be sure. My favorite is the one with the moon on it.

Awesome Lego Party

The boys' party was AWESOME. I don't think that will ever get old. I have to say, I was very happy with the decorations. I didn't go too crazy with things, but it was just enough.

I loved making the Lego cake. I found this video on YouTube on how to make it. Not only was it easier than I thought, the video was entertaining. I have found another channel to subscribe to.

The Lego figures in front of the cake were made from the Master Builder Cutting Files over at Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons.

The Lego heads I created myself from a Google image that I cut on my Explore.

The blocks were from the Mini Box Trio over at SVG Cutting Files. The Everything Is Awesome Sign and the Emmet figure were from a blog hop that SVG Cutting Files did.

Now to get started on Halloween cards!

Thanks for stopping by.

Lego Party

I have been making decorations for my twin boys' party. Their party is in one week and my husband and I decided that a Lego theme would be perfect this year. I was able to find lots of ideas on Pinterest for decorations. I will post more once party day gets here.

One of the things that I made was Legos out of paper. This was so much fun. I found the perfect boxes here. All I had to do was make some circles to add to the top.

I know this is going to look great around the cake.

Now back to make more things for the party.

Time sure flies.....

So it has been a while since I posted anything. Life has a way of happening and some things get pushed to the bottom of the list.

My kids started school. so we have been getting back into the swing of things. Sitting down to do homework has been tough. I think this last week, the three of them, seemed to understand that it has to be done every night.

So on to my post.

My cousin's baby shower was today. It was a lot of fun to see her and the rest of the family. She is having a little girl and we are all so excited for her. Here is the card that I made for her and her husband.

I used a cut file from Lori Whitlock on my Silhouette. I actually placed the base paper face down. As I was pulling it from the cutting mat I started to panic. Thankfully I was able to flip it to the correct side.

The card went together fast. I really like Lori Whitlock's SVG files.

I hope you like the card.

Masculine cards

Masculine cards.....

I always dread when I have to make a masculine birthday card. So I was glad to have found something that would work.

This card was made for my brother-in-law. He is in the Navy, so I thought this would be fitting.

I used the trapezoid card base from SVG Cutting Files as well as Sailor Squaredy Cat and cut them on my Cricut Explore. The banner was also cut on the Explore. I added the sequins to give it a finished look.

I love how it came out.

My first post and a shaker card

I have been creating cards and party decorations for over two years now. And even though I am still learning, I was convinced by my sister and friends to start a blog and show the items I have created.

I decided to try my hand at making a shaker card. After watching a few tutorials and then having to scrap the first attempt (must remember to take the Post-it tape off the stamp), I must say I am fairly pleased with the way it turned out.

This card is for my mother in law. Her birthday just happens to be the day before mine.

  • I made a top folding A2 card and cut a 3" circle out of the center.
  • The green ring was cut on my Cricut Explore by welding two circles together, one at 2.95" and 3.25".
  • The clear window was also cut on my Explore at  3.4".
